Shammu Ashan of Ananda College scored a century (103) off 112 balls to steer Sri Lanka to a 37-run win over Pakistan under the Duckworth Lewis method in the first under 19 youth ODI played at Hambantota.

After Sri Lanka under 19 had scored 239, Pakistan lost four wickets for 92 runs in 29.3 overs when rain brought an end to the match. At that stage they were short by 37 runs short of the target under the D/L rain rule.

The remaining four youth ODIs will be played at the NCC on October 19 and 21 and at the SSC on October 23 and 25.
