Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived this morning at the office of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC).

The Presidential Commission had summoned Rajapaksa to give a statement regarding its probe into the failure by his election campaign to settle bills amounting to Rs.115 million owed to the Independent Television Network (ITN). The unpaid bills stem from campaign advertisements that had been broadcast over ITN during the last Presidential Election.

The Presidential Commission had also recorded a statement from Rajapaksa earlier regarding the case. Meanwhile, Parliamentarian and former Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella also appeared before the Presidential Commission today in relation to the same matter.
