Pakistan recovered from a precarious position of 71-5 to post a total of 212-9 by the close on the second day of the second under 19 youth test against Sri Lanka played at Hambantota.

Replying to Sri Lanka’s first innings score of 305, Pakistan looked in deep trouble when they lost half their side for less than 100, but Hamza Khan (81) and Hasan Mohsin (60) staged a fight back sharing a stand of 103 that saw them end the day 93 runs behind with one wicket in hand.

The damage to the Pakistan innings was done by opening bowlers Geethal Malinga and Jehan Daniel who took five wickets between them before skipper Charith Asalanka chipped in with two wickets later in the day once he had broken the threatening partnership by running out Hamza 19 short of a century.
