Sri Lanka National Carrom men’s and women’s teams set off to India to participate in the “Seventh International Carrom Federation Trophy 2015” Tournament to be held at Thyagaraj Sports Complex in Delhi, India from October 7th to 11th.

Eight players were accompanied by three officials on this tour.
The Sri Lanka contingent consists of top carrom players in the likes of Nishantha Fernando who is the current world carrom champion, Chamil Cooray who is the national champion and Joseph Rosita who is the current women’s champion.

The 17 countries participating in this tournament are India, Pakistan, England, Germany, Japan, Canada, Sweden, Malaysia, France, America, Bangladesh, Maldives, Italy, Poland, Qatar, Korea and Sri Lanka.

Men’s team: Chamil Cooray (Captain, Seylan Bank), Nisantha Fernando (Navy), Anaz Ahamed (Army) and Dimal Senaratne (JAT Holdings Company).

Women’s Team: Joseph Rosita (Captain Navy), Chalani Lakmali (Navy), Arosha Wickramasinghe (University of Performing Arts) and Madushika Kanchanamala (Navy).
Officials: Thumula Naotunna (Sri Lanka Telecom – General Secretary of Sri Lanka Carrom Federation and Team Leader), Lalith Hewage (Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau) – Vice President and Manager), Amitha Wickramasinghe (Sri Lanka Ports Authority) – Vice President as the Manageress of Women’s Team.

General Secretary of Sri Lanka Carrom Federation Thumula Naotunna will represent Sri Lanka at the General Meeting of International Carrom Federation which will be held concurrently with the Indian Carrom Tournament.
