The Guitar Association of Sri Lanka in collaboration with Asian Guitar Federation (India) and the Indian Cultural Center is working to promote classical guitar playing in Sri Lanka  The Guitar Association of Sri Lanka, founded in, 2011 has successfully held Guitar festivals in 2011, 2012,2013,2014,and 2015.  The Guitar Festivals have been a place for Guitar music lovers to come and see various guitar styles, being performed on one stage.

Many leading guitarists and celebrities volunteer to perform in these concerts to popularize guitar music and to develop a better understanding between the audience and the artists. Guitarists from Japan and Vietnam have also participated in these festivals.
As a step to popularize classical guitar music in Sri Lanka, we are happy to have Dr. Paul Cearczyk from the USA to come and conduct classical guitar workshops free-of-charge in Colombo and Peradeniya. Dr.Paul Cesarczyk (American-Poland) who made his appearance at the Carnegie Hall, New York City at the age of 17 has performed widely throughout Europe , the US and Asia.

He has appeared in concert with Speculum Musicae, The Claremont Ensemble, the New York City opera orchestra, the Manhattan Virtuosi, Thailand Philharmonic orchestra, Cremona Festival orchestra and has participated in Long island Guitar Festival, Danish Guitar Wave festival.

Dr. Paul Cesarczyk has been awarded Andres Segovia award, The Aaron Copland from American Society of Composers, the Artists International award, a Kosciuszko Foundation prize and an award for artistic excellence from the NY State Senate.

He was educated in New York City public schools including the prestigious La Guardia High school for the performing arts. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Manhattan School of Music under David Starobin and completed a Doctor of music Degree with Jerry Willard at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Since 2009, Cesarczyk serves as the Department Chair at Mahidol University College of Music in Thailand.

Dr. Paul Cesarczyk was introduced to us by the Classical Guitar Society of Calcutta, and the Asian Guitar Federation.
