Kithuruwan Vithanage scored a fine century for Sri Lanka A in the second one-day game against New Zealand A at Christchurch

A brilliant century from Kithuruwan Vithanage failed to bring victory to Sri Lanka A who lost the second one-day game to New Zealand A by 15 runs at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.

Chasing New Zealand’s score of 305, Sri Lanka were well on course to overhaul the total when they were 277-4 in the 45th over when Vithanage who had struck 10 fours and two sixes in his 104-ball innings was dismissed for 120.

The Lankan innings collapse from there onwards as they lost their last six wickets for 13 runs that included two run outs.

Earlier New Zealand A invited to bat first were boosted to their total by half-centuries from Michael Pollard, Michael Bracewell and Henry Nicholls.
