Sri Lanka finished the second day of the 3-day first under 19 test against Pakistan on top after a fine double century from skipper Charith Asalanka at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota.
After Sri Lanka under 19 had declared their first innings at 347-9 following the dismissal of Asalanka for 200 scored off 276 balls with 24 fours and a six, Pakistan under 19 were bundled out for 209 despite a fighting century (102 off 167 balls) from wicket-keeper Umair Masood.
The damage to the Pakistan batting was done by fast bowlers Asitha Fernando and Lahiru Kumara and left-arm spinner Thilan Nimesh who captured three wickets apiece.
By stumps the home side had made ten without loss and go into the third and final day with an overall lead of 148.
