The CID informed this to court when the suspects were produced before the Minuwangoda Magistrate’s Court this morning. CID officers had further informed that the suspect wished to make a confession inside the magistrate’s chamber regarding the crime.

Two other suspects who had been arrested earlier, including a 17-year-old school student, were released by courts last week after DNA evidence exonerated them of the crime. The suspect going by the alias ‘Kondaya’ was arrested in late September in connection with the killing. He was regarded as the main suspect in the murder.
Kondaya and his brother are currently in remand custody pending the submission of results of their DNA tests to court.
