Police said 11 suspects arrested in connection with the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda will be taken to the Giritale Army Camp in order to conduct further investigations into the incident.
Issuing a media release, Police Headquarters stated 11 suspects arrested so far during the course of the probe are currently being held and interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The Attorney General’s Department has advised that the suspects be taken to the Giritale Army Camp, where Eknaligoda is said to have been held after his alleged abduction.
Accordingly, the Homagama Magistrate’s Court granted permission for the CID on September 28 to take the suspects to the Army Camp. Police said that the suspects would be taken to the Giritale Army Camp during the period from October 3 to 13 in order to conduct further investigations.
