Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe left for Japan for an official visit yesterday, October 3 and will be in Japan till October 7. He will deliver a special lecture at the inaugural ceremony of Japan Science and Technology Association’s (STS) annual sessions in Kyoto, and for another address at the Japanese Parliament.
He will also hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said that the visit will aim at further strengthening the friendly relations between Japan and Sri Lanka. During his four day visit in Japan, the Prime Minister will be received in audience by the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
Premier Wickremesinghe will also meet officials of Japan Sri Lanka Parliamentarians League, Japan-Sri Lanka Business Corporation and Japanese Trade Organisation (JETRO). His delegation will include Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake, Technological Education and Employment Minister Susil Premajayantha and a few officials.
