Applications for the post of Head Coach of the Sri Lanka cricket team closes on Tuesday October 6.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) advertised for the post left vacant by the resignation of Marvan Atapattu in the newspapers as well as their official website on September 24.

“We have not had any response so far but we expect those interested to apply before the deadline,” SLC CEO Ashley de Silva told ‘The Nation’.

“It is a high profile post and those who have held it before have secured better positions elsewhere based on the success the Sri Lanka team has had in the international arena,” he said.

De Silva said that SLC had not head hunted for a coach but allowed it to initially go through the normal process of advertising.

“If we find that the applicants are not suitable enough we will head hunt for one,” said De Silva.

A special committee appointed by SLC will go through the applicants before short listing it.
