Snooker
Colombo District conducted their Lanka Plate Snooker tournament few days back and it was nice to see this tournament in full swing. However, it is sad to say that there are no plans for the Kandy’ District Lanka Plate to be held. A sport which was dominated by Kandy YMMA, Mahanuwara YMBA, Kandy CYO, Public Services Garden Club, Kandy Club, University Recreation Club, Kings Cue Club were in full swing and the game was well promoted in Kandy. Today no one knows the meaning of cue sport over here. Today the game is played in Snooker Parlous for a fee. This time there was no Kandy District Lanka Plate tournament. The controlling body does a lot to promote the game, but are the district organizers living in the funeral parlours?
