Celebrating musician Sunil Santha’s 100th birth anniversary, the Sunil Santha Society will be organizing a conference to discuss the maestro’s contributions to the Sinhala music and folk music as a composer, singer and a lyricist on October 24 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute from 9 am to 4.30 pm.
Prof Jayantha Amarasinghe, Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne, Prof. Sarath Chandrajeeva, Prof. Kolitha Bhanu Dissanayake, Dr. Ruwan Ekanayake, Prof. Volter Marasinghe and musicians Harsha Makalanda and Nadeeka Guruge will speak on various topics, covering many aspects of Santha’s music at the event.
The event is specifically open to those who are studying music. The participant will be rewarded with Sunil Santha’s Asiri we Lanka CD, souvenirs and a collection of articles on Sunil Santha’s contributions.
Only a selected crowed who is truly compassionate about his work will be given tokens to participate at the event.
