Sri Lanka mixed fortunes in their opening twp fixtures at the Asian Men’s rugby Sevens second leg in Bangkok, Thailand winning against Chinese Taipei and losing to Hong Kong.

However despite their loss Sri Lanka qualified to play in the Cup quarter-finals.

Sri Lanka competing in their first match for the day in Pool B, gave a dazzling display of rugby to thrash Chinese Taipei by 36 points (3 goals, 3 tries) to nil victory.

In their second match, the gallant Tuskers put up an eye-catching performance but went down fighting to Asian number two ranked Hong Kong by 14 points (2 goals) to 33 (4 goals, 1 try).

For the gallant Tuskers their captain cum play maker Fazil Marija, Jason Dissanayaka, Anuruddha Willawara, Danushka Ranjan, Richard Darmapala and Kanchana  Ramanayaka were outstanding in both games with their sizzling runs and fierce tackling..
