Sixteen year old Gajendran Dhanarajana of little known Rajawella Tamil National School in Rajawela once again asserted his supremacy at the elite sports of golf by winning the Gold Division at the Prima Sunrise Regional Junior Golf Championship conducted at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort, Rajawela recently.

Over a 100 junior golfers between the ages of nine and 17 years participated.

Representative of the Sri Lanka Golf Union Niloo Jayatillake said that this junior regional championship is aimed at unearthing young talent. With further training they will improve their skill level and put Sri Lanka in the golfing map.

Golf is now taken to the lesser privileged young golfer in the region. The Victoria Golf and Country Resort is even conducting coaching clinics free of charge to these young golfers which augurs well for the future.

Gold Division:
Winner: Gajendran Dhanaranjan 153, Runner-up: T. Akash 158, Third: S. Savariyan 162.
Silver Division:
Winner: Tanya Minel 187, Runner-up: Vinod Weerasinghe 192, Third: Iman Sangani 190.
Bronze Division:
Winner: K. Dhannahan 187, Runner-up: Levon Niyarapola 193. Third: T. Vikash 201.
Copper Division:
Winner: Yanik Kumar 69, Runner-up: Nirek Tejwani 72, Third: Kriss Kressive 80.
