FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter greeting Anura de Silva on his arrival at Zurich

President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka Anura de Silva and immediate past President FFSL Ranjith Rodrigo met the football governing body FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter at FIFA headquarters in Zurich recently and discussed the development of football in Sri Lanka. Blatter assured the Sri Lankan delegation that he will continue the assistance to Sri Lanka in the future too. Thierry Regenass Head of Member Associations and Development Officer FIFA and Mike Pfister also attended the meeting.

Anura de Silva and Ranjith Rodrigo along with other Lankan delegates held discussions with Frederic Guillemont – Senior Manager Performance Programme of the FIFA on matters relating to the development of Human Resource, Technical Development and Financial management of FFSL.

Two of them also held discussions with Mike Pfister – Senior Manager Member Association Development and Primo Corvaro (FIFA) on matters pertaining to Sports Regulations of Sri Lanka and briefed FIFA officials of the developments. Also the status of Dangalla and Kelaniya projects and proposed artificial turf at the Baddegana Training centre.

FIFA President Joseph Blatter addressed the FIFA Member Association Committee meeting which deals with relations between FIFA and its members and draw up proposals for optimum co-operation. The committee also monitors the evolution of the Statutes and Regulations of FIFA, the Confederations and Members.
