Pindeniya National School from Kegalle and Pannala National School from Kurunegala emerged joint champions of the ‘Singer Trophy’ under-17 division III inter schools cricket tournament on Wednesday at MCA grounds Colombo.

After a delayed start due to wet conditions, Pannala NS elected to field first with each side given only 24 overs per side.

Pindeinya National School were bowled out 103 runs in 18.2 overs. Madhushan Nimesh took 5 wickets for 25 runs and Pavithra Madhushan took 3 wickets for 5 runs.

Match was rescheduled again to 20 overs and Pannala National School got a target of 90 runs to win in 20 overs. Pannala NS scored 77 runs for 8 wickets in 15.3 overs when played was called off due to bad light without a result.
