Sandesh Kantimahanti of Canada emerged the boys singles champion at the end of the first week of the ATP under-14 tennis tournament held at the SLTA courts Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha on Sunday 13 September.

He beat Nelaka Dissanayake of Sri Lanka 6/1, 6/1 in the final. Unseeded Dissanayake created a major upset earlier when he beat top seed Rahul Jaideep of India in the quarters.

Chandrika Joshi of India won the girls singles event when she beat Sathi Siyara Silva of Sri Lanka in straight sets 6/3, 6/1 in the final. Earlier, unseeded Joshi beat top seed Anika Seneviratne in straight sets in the semi-finals 6/4, 6/3.
