An 28-year-old Indian male was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake today while trying to smuggle in 18 gold slabs weighing 1800 grams and worth Rs.9 million.

He was taken into custody by officers from the Police’s Anti-Narcotics Bureau, who handed him over to Customs for further investigations.
