A captain’s knock by Sagara Upuldeniya and a stylish half century by Adeesha Nanayakkara guided Vallibel Finance to a well earned five wickets win over Asian Asset Finance in the final of the 2nd MCA Tier “B” T+20 Super tournament 2015, sponsored by Hayleys Fibre, concluded at the MCA grounds on 6th September.
Electing to bat Asia Asset Finance put up a challenging 167 for 5 in 20 overs, the nucleus of the innings being the partnership of 75 runs for the fourth wicket between Nimesh Fernando (70 in 57 balls inclusive of 5 sixes and a four) and Nimesh Perera (44 in 23 balls inclusive of 5 sixes & a four).

Vallibel Finance chased the target of 168 runs losing just five wickets and eight balls to spare.

Adeesha Nanayakkara (53 in 29 balls, inclusive of 5 sixes and 2 fours) and skipper, Sagara Upuldeniya (63 not out in 47 balls inclusive of 4 sixes and equal number of fours) kept up the momentum with a sparkling partnership of 65 runs for the third wicket.

Match Referee Basil Perera had no hesitation on naming Sagara Upuldeniya from Vallibel Finance as his Man of the Match.
The other three special awards went to Malinda de Silva, from Asian Asset Finance (best bowler) and Adeesha Nanayakkara from Vallibel Finance (best batsman and Man of the Series).

Awards were given away by Pramodth Fernando, Asst. Manager Sales and Marketing, Thideema Perera, Manager Sales and Marketing and Asoka Silva, General Manager, Production – all from Riley’s (Pvt) Ltd.
