In a unique partnership between Sri Lanka Tourism – Sri Lanka Airlines – Sri Lanka Tea Board with the implementing partner APOT (Asia Pacific Onboard Tour agencies) Sri Lanka crossed the Largest Tea Party Guinness Book of Records in Kandy last weekend.

The Sri Lankan feat set was 35,000 beating the previous record of 32,681 set at the Nehru Stadium in Indore, India.

APOT founder Keethi Hapugasdeniya said once the Guinness Committee ratifies the feat, Sri Lanka Tourism plans to take the event globally demonstrating continuity of the project.
