Squash queen Mihiliya Methsarani will be representing Sri Lanka in squash for the first time at the 5th Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in Samoa from 5 to 11 September.
Methsaranai who has been doing well in the sport is ranked 12th in the Asian region in her age category. This will also be the first time that Squash is included in these Games and will be a good boost for the sport in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka team consists of four athletes, three weightlifters and the squash player. Methsarani will also be accompanied by her coach Yasmin Zarook while coaches for athletes and weightlifting will also go along to Samoa.

Five officials will accompany the eight member team.

The squad:
Athletes: Dammika Ranatunga (High jump), Dharshana Rajapaksha (400m H), Yamani Dulanjalee (400m H & 400m), Poornima Kalpani (long jump)

Weightlifting: Jith Wijewickrema (77kg), Isuru Senadeera (85kg), Srimali Samarakoon (48 kg).
