Sri Lanka’s junior selectors have named a 26-member squad to play Pakistan in an under 19 home series that comprises two 3-day matches and five one-day limited-over games in October.

The selectors will name the captain closer to the date of the matches.

Three players are in the running for that post namely Sammu Ashan, Charith Asalanka and Avishka Fernando.

The Sri Lanka under 19 squad:

Kaveen Bandara, Salindu Ushan,  Thanuka Dabare, Sanogeeth Shanmuganathan, Sammu Ashan, Charith Asalanka, Pramod Madiwantha, Avishka Fernando, Sachintha Jayathilake,  Vishard Randika,  Navindu Nirmal, Lakshina Rodrigo, Wanidu Hasaranga, Kamindu Mendis, Jehan Daniel, Lahiru Samarakoon,  Geethal Malinga, Lahiru Kumara, Dishan Sandaruwan, Asitha Fernando, Uditha Madusanka, Raveen Sayer,  Nishan Peiris, Damitha Silva, Thilan Nimesh, Lakshan Fernando.

The tour itinerary:

Oct 1: Arrival

Oct 4-6: 1st three-day u19 match at Galle

Oct 10-12: 2nd three-day u19 match at Hambantota

Oct 16: 1st u19 one-day match at Matara

Oct 19: 2nd u19 one-day match at Colombo

Oct 21: 3rd u19 one-day match at Colombo

Oct 23: 4th u19 one-day match at Colombo

Oct 25: 5th u19 one-day match at Colombo

Oct 26: Departure.
