US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal arrived in Sri Lanka early this morning on a two-day visit with Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour Tom Malinowski.

US Assistant Secretary of State Biswal is presently at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo and engaging bilateral talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera. Two Assistant Secretaries will be meeting few politicians and government officers during their tight visit.

Assistant Secretary Biswal will complete her tour by tomorrow and will travel to New Delhi, India.  Assistant Secretary Malinowski will continue with meetings in Sri Lanka until August 27.
