Police have arrested 924 persons for election law violations by this morning (August 25). Police Media Unit said police had conducted 334 raids and arrested 739 persons.

Police had also received 408 complaints regarding election law violations and had taken a further 185 persons into custody over these complaints.

A total of 254 vehicles have also been taken into custody for allegedly being used to violate election laws.

Meanwhile, 25 of the persons arrested were taken into custody for election law violations during the post-election period, which came to an end yesterday (August 24). Police had conducted one raid during this period, arresting five persons. Police had also received 26 complaints during the post-election period and 20 persons were arrested as a result of these complaints. Three vehicles were also taken into custody, police further said.
