U-18 rugby:
Dharmaraja College who are under the guidance of Nimal Wijasiri, a former Army and Kandy SC ruggerite, beat Vidyartha College and Trinity College in their inter school under-18 Milo trophy rugby matches played at Pallekelle.

They beat Vidyartha by 43 points to 3 after leading 7-3 at half time.Then they played to a high standard to beat Trinity by 10 points to 7 in their second game.

Kenyan Oscar Ouma and Tongan Koto Pongi who played for the champion Kandy Sports Club side last season, will join the team for the UAE tour, which will be from 11 to 18th September.

Sean Wijasinghe will be the captain cum coach on the UAE tour, as regular skipper Fazil Marija is on national duty.

Old Rajans
Former Dharmaraja College and Kandy SC ruggerite Supun Thalagoda took over the presidency of the Old Rajana Rugby Football Association from Brig. Nirmal Dharmaratne at the Annual General meeting held at the Kandy club.

Rohan Chairman again
Former Trinity College, CH and FC and Sri Lanka center Rohan Abeyakoon was re-elected as the Chairman of the Old Trinitans Scrummage at the AGM held on Wednesday. The two Vice Chairman’s are Darshan Munasinghe and Tyrone Smith. Hard working Asoka Ranhotty retained his secretary’s post and Vijaya Dambawine is the Treasurer.

Ishan Ratnayake has been appointed captain of Old Trinitians Sports Club cricket team for 2015/16 season. They play in the Sri Lanka Cricket Division III tournament. He led the side to beat Onslaught Cricket Club by ten wickets. Some of the top players in the side along with skipper Ishan Ratnayake are R. Divagaran, Maduranga Munaweera and A. Anaz.

With Kandy football at club level in the dark, some of the Kandy’s football crazy fans have come forward with an idea of playing a match between a Kandy and Colombo invitation XI for trophy in memory of the late Dr. C.D.L. Fernando. He was a top class cricketer and ruggerite to come out from Royal College. He was the first captain of Royal College Bradby team. He was president of the Kandy football for well over ten years. The Colombo team will be handled by Hurley Silveria and Bodi Liyanage will take care of the Kandy team. The match is expected to be played in Kandy.

Former POG no more
S. Ariyasingam, former Rugby master and Prefect of Games of Trinity College is no more. He passed away on Wednesday and his funeral took place on Friday at the Methodist section of the Mahiyawa General Cemetery.
