Several foreign wire news providers quoting the AFP report that former president Mahinda Rajapaksa conceded defeat ‘after a good fight’ at the General Elections -2015.
Web-site Stratetimes reported “Based on early results, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s United National Party was leading in 10 electoral districts while Rajapakse’s United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) was ahead in nine.”
The remaining districts in Northern and Eastern provinces seem dominating by the minority parties. As predicted by political analysts, the results which released so far imply that no party was set to secure an absolute majority of 113 seats in the 225-member parliament following Monday’s election.
Former President Rajapaksa’s Media Spokesperson Rohan Weliwita showed his ignorance on such a move and added he even no access to the former President at the time.
