Navy Sea Horses won the Cup championship in the SLRFU segment – 2, Inter Club Rugby Sevens tournament worked off at the Race Course International Stadium last week. They beat Army Dragons with a runaway 36 points to nil victory in the final.

On the first day Navy Sea Horses won all their matches beating KV Ranges 38 points to 5 and Keterians 24 points to nil.

Leading up to the final in the second days play, Navy Sear Horses beat Kotalawala Defence Acadamy-B by 45 points to nil in the cup quarter-finals. While in the semi-finals they beat Army Blues by 38 points to nil to enter the final.

On the other hand Army Dragons beat Cambrians by 17 points to 12 and Peterson by 31 points to 7 on the first day.

On the second day, Army Dragons beat Army Wagoner’s by 15 points to 5 after a hard fought match in the quarter-finals.

They came in to the Cup final by beating Army Archers by 24 points to nil in the semi-finals.

Ruwan Kumara of the Navy Sea Horses was adjudged the best player of the tournament while Janith Chanaka of the Puffins bagged the most promising player of the tournament award.

In the Plate final, after a close game the match was tied at 10-all at the end of play. Finally Army Archers beat Army Blues by15 point’s to10 in extra time to clinch the plate championship.

Black Hawks beat Keterians by 21 points to 10 in the Bowl finals to collect the Bowl Championship.

In the shield finals KV Rangers edged out Puffins by 26 points to19 to win the shield championship.
