Rugby referees seminar:
Sri Lanka Rugby Referees Association conducted a referees seminar at the Trinity College ground, Asgiriya for the referees of Central Province. Garath Williamson the New Zealand rugby referees coach conducted this seminar to help improve the skills of local referees.
Sri Lanka’s top referee Dilroy Fernando said that they were happy with this program.

Rugby under-14:
Three schools from Kandy who took part in the 12-a-side inter-schools rugby tournament did extremely well. Trinity College won the Cup championship beating S. Thomas’ College. Kingswood College took the Plate and Dharmaraja finished second in the Bowl event.

Kandy SC:
Kandy SC will keep behind some of their key players from the tour to the UAE. Kandy SC are to take part in the inaugural Asia Rugby Western Clubs Champions League to be held in Dubai in September. The players who will miss the tour to UAE due to national duty are Fazil Marija, Gayan Weeraratne, Nigel Ratwatte, Richard Dharmapala and Anurudha Wilwera.

Girls High School:
Girls High School Kandy are doing well in the field of sports.Recently they were able to win titles at the Central Province under-19 Carrom, under-15 Volleyballs and under-15 Netball tournaments organized by Department of Education Central Province.

The Carrom team was led by Dilukshi Ratnayake, the Volleyball team was led by Lakitha Wimasi and the Netball team was led by Hashini Aranayake.

Pot Black Snooker:
The 138 year old Kandy Club together with Sri Lanka Billiards and Snooker Association will conduct a 6-Ball Pot Black Snooker Tournament on 26th September at the club tables.

Entry fee for this tournament will be Rs. 500 and will be on invitation basis.Players from Kandy Garden Club, Kandy Sports Club, Public Services Club, Mahanauwara YMBA and Kandy Club are expected to enter.Zuraish Hassim, president of the SLBSA will be the chief guest on the final day.
