The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced that new regulations regarding the issuing of passports would apply from today (August 10).

Accordingly, fingerprints will be collected from all those applying for passports.

Furthermore, digital photographs of the applicants must be submitted through one of the photo studios authorized by the department located island-wide or at the Department head office or at regional offices. Printed photographs will no longer be accepted. Fingerprints will be collected at the Department head office or regional offices and applicant should be present in person.

The department has further stated that inclusion of children in the parent’s passport will no longer be allowed and they would be issued separate passports.
