The 22-year-old spinner from St Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa finished with a match bag of 11 wickets for 233 bowling 81 overs in the match – the first time he has taken ten wickets or more in his career.
South Africa Emerging Players who trailed the host by 13 runs on the first innings were dismissed in their second innings for 299 leaving Sri Lanka Emerging Players a target of 287 to chase for victory. The home side ended on 100-1.
