The Wasim Thajudeen Foundation will host a rugby match between S. Thomas’ Prep School and S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, old boys for the “Wasim Thajudeen Memorial Trophy” for the second year running on 8th August 2015 at Longdon Place.
It will be played under the banner of “Pride of Origin” with the involvement of the Old Boys’ Association of S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia and the Old Boys’ Union of S. Thomas’ Preparatory School.

There will be three games played as follows:
1st game – U-16 present boys’ game that will kick off at 2.45 pm.
2nd Game – 10 a side Tag Rugby, kick off will be at 3.30 pm.

3rd Game – 15 a side Rugby Match, kick off will be at 4.30 pm for the “ Wasim Thajudeen Memorial Trophy.”

Thajudeen started his rugby career at S. Thomas’ Prep School and moved on to S. Thomas’ Mount Lavinia. He represented S. Thomas’ College from 2001 to 2003. He turned out for Havelock Sports Club in 2005 and represented the national side for the first time in 2008.Thajudeen died in 2012 under tragic circumstances.
