Two uncapped players 23-year-old left-arm fast bowler Vishwa Fernando and 24-year-old wicket-keeper batsman Kusal Perera were named in a 16-member squad to play India in a three-Test series starting at Galle on Wednesday.
Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera who is recovering from a side strain was also included subject to fitness.
The rest of the squad comprises players who appeared in the recently concluded Test series against Pakistan that Sri Lanka lost 1-2 with the exception of Suranga Lakmal who has been ruled out with a side strain.
The second Test of the series starting on August 20 at the P Sara Oval will mark the final appearance of Sri Lankan batting icon Kumar Sangakkara who will retire from international cricket.
