Former Isipathana, Sri Lanka under-20, CR and FC, Havelocks SC and present Sri Lanka scrum Half Kavindu De Costa has decided to go back to CR & FC for the upcoming rugby season. He is younger brother of current CR and FC 7’s captain Ashan De Costa, will be back to don the red jersey as their regular scrum half.
Kavindu who played for Isipathana College as a scrum half till the end of 2013 inter-schools rugby season, joined his two elder brothers in centre Lasintha De Costa and fly half Ashan De Costa at CR and FC in 2012/13 season. CR was then captained by Peterite Ishan Noor and was coached by Western Samoan international Tavita Tulagaese who is better known as Laga.
In a surprise move Kavindu left CR & FC and joined Havelocks in 2014/15 season where he excelled as a scrum half even for the national team.
Back at Longdon Place club Kavindu de Costa will play under Ishan Noor once again and they will be coached by former Trinity, CR, Kandy SC and national player Inthisham Marikar.
