Two suspects wanted in connection with hacking a man to death in broad daylight at Jampata Street in Kotahena this afternoon have been arrested by Kotahena police.

The 33-year-old victim was hacked to death at around 1.15pm today in front of a shop at Jampata Street by four individuals who had arrived in a three-wheeler.

The two suspects taken into custody are aged 21 and 26 years. They are both residents of Jampata Street, Colombo 13.

Investigations are continuing to arrest the two remaining suspects.

It had earlier been revealed that the victim of the crime had several court cases pending against him and had only been released on bail a month ago. He was a defendant in a murder case, two robbery cases and another court case relating to the possession of a hand grenade.

He had also been responsible for killing a brother of the four suspects.
