A brand can be defined as a name, term, design or other feature that distinguishes one seller’s product from those of others. What is your brand in the human race? Would the boy/girl you were yesterday be proud of the man/woman you are today?  In this world, we are the product of our parents, family, society, community and the country we all represent. It is true that these people make a small or big impact on our lives but we are the product of the choices we make. You can either chose to be good or bad. It is your choices that show what you truly are, far more than your ability. Whenever I wake up in the morning, I look at the mirror and ask myself this question ‘would I like the world to be filled with people like me?’  You too can take a moment; close your eyes and be silent for few seconds to ask yourself this question at least once a day or week.  Have you paused for a while and asked yourself if you want this world to be filled with people who think, work, talk and interact with people like you do?

Have you for once asked yourself that if every wife, husband, parent, child is like you, what kind of home, family, society and community this will world filled with? Look deep down and see if the society and the world will be at peace if the world is filled with people like you.  We all know the answer to this questions in our mind but sometimes we deliberately blind ourselves with lies and choose to believe whatever we want to believe, but let me tell you this, if your answer is truly ‘YES’ that means you are doing something that will bring a good result to you and the society you live in but, if your answer is ‘NO’ that means you still have plenty of time to work on yourself.  There is no late comer in positively changing one’s thinking and it’s never too can make impact in people’s life. The man who invented the eraser must have studied the human race and figured it out that if we make mistakes, we can erase it and rewrite it accurately.  That means you can still rebrand no matter how screwed you are.

What is your brand? Are you a type of person who obtains pleasure from inflicting pain on others? Are you a person that is concerned chiefly or only about yourself and your advantage to the exclusion of others? Are you a person who would wag your tongue; speak about others and reveal secrets or intimacies? Are you a person of authority who subjects others to undue pressures? Or are you a person who has characteristics that attract love or affection? Are you a person that promotes or enhances well-being of moral excellence? Do people look up to you as their mentor or source of inspiration? What is that brand of attitude in you that sells quickly and people would like to buy or see as role model? Is your brand good, bad or fake? Check and recheck now because is not late to rebrand.

Although, it’s always very easy for us to blame our parents and society for our predicament, we tend to forget that we also contribute immensely to it. No matter how bad you think you are, there is that goodness in you and all you need to do is to reach for it, tap it and work on it. The truth is that people are not remembered by how they failed, but how often they succeeded.  How you influence people around you is though your brand. Your contributions to the world really matters. Whatever you give to the world is your brand. John C Maxwell said, “Every person has a longing to be significant; to be part of something noble and purposeful.” Your race, religion, family background or beliefs do not matter. There are so many men and women who hold no distinctive positions but whose contribution towards the development of society has been enormous, according to Nelson Mandela. So, even if your contribution is not as big as inventing stuff  like Thomas Edison, or a philanthropist like Nelson Mandela, or a freedom fighter like Martin Luther King or you may not even be Shakespeare, Napoleon, Einstein, Abraham Lincoln or Mahatma Gandhi but you can build your own true brand when you rebrand.

Trapped within every human being is a hidden power of doing good and bad. All humans possess these two, but only those who work on the good side become truly effective positive people in the society.  Ask yourself if you are heading in the right direction. What’s the benefit of running on a wrong road?  The only person that gives you trouble is yourself. You should try as much as possible to win yourself over, work on yourself every day, conquer the bad thoughts that disallow you to do well and make an impact in people’s life.  If you are branded as a bad and unproductive person, you can rebrand yourself by setting positive goals for your life. The world is waiting for you. You have something remarkable to give to the world. Have you ever imagined what would have happened if someone like Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard student Eduardo Saverin had not created Facebook?  If someone had not invented the car, plane, train, boat, computer, electronics, and all social amenities we uses today?  Imagine the world without great people who make it worthwhile.

Everybody has their favorite brand based on popular designers. You keep hearing  ‘I prefer the iPhone to other phones; I prefer Versace, Gucci, Adidas, Puma, Rolex, Italian shoes and so on and so forth to this brand or that brand.’ Most people satisfy their body with good brands of products and leave their thoughts unbranded. It is high time you rebrand by changing the way you think so that your world will change. Remember, whatever your brand is, whatever you do, ask yourself if the world would be proud to have duplicates of your personality and character in its billions of children and youth of tomorrow. If not you can rebrand.
