Indian Cultural Center will organize a Kathak Recital by renowned kathak dancer,  Ms.Anjali Mishraat on July 24, 2015 at 6.00pm  at its auditorium located at 16/2, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7.

Anjali Mishra has always had a keen interest and passion for dance, which her parents encouraging and supporting from a young age. Today, Anjali Mishra is a gifted teacher and a dancer in Sri Lanka. She has been performing and instructing students for many years,and currently teaching Kathak as a faculty at the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka.

Anjali was trained in the Kathak by the great Guru Pt. Barman Lal, who is  one of the best dancers in the Raigarh Court and   could further thorough her strengths in dancing under few other doyens in the field such as Prof. Mandavi Singh, Dr. Jyoti Bakshi, Dr. ChetnaJyotishi Byohar , Guru Surendra Saikia and  Guru Meena Singh.

She has performed widely in India and Sri Lanka and has participated in many major dance festivals and competitions. Some of her important performances in Sri Lanka include ‘Khyaal’, an evening of classical dance and vocal, Colombo, Solo Kathak recital at ICC,Colombo,2005, ‘FEELINGS’, an evening of Classical Dance and vocal, 2006 .Colombo,  Folk Dance choreographed and performed for ICC, Colombo,2007,Katkak group performance at University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo and many more.
