The Government has declared a general amnesty for airmen and airwomen who have deserted the Sri Lanka Air Force during the period from June 01, 2009 to December 31, 2014.

Sri Lanka Air Force Head Quarters in a statement to the media says that the general amnesty extended previously for all airmen and airwomen who deserted the service at Air Force before the May 31, 2009 is still valid. Accordingly, those who left the service before the defeat of the terror outfit; LTTE also may surrender to the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters and get their clearances without undergoing any punishment. The release also said that the process is very simple as they have to fill some documents.
