Sri Lanka Soccer Masters XI (SLSM) team comprising former national stars of over 40 years, will travel to Jaffna to play a friendly game against Vathiry Diamonds SC, Vadamarachchi today (18th July). The match is to take place at the Jaffna Central College ground with kick off scheduled for 4.30 p.m.

This friendly match is jointly organized by the Northern Provincial Council Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs ministries and the SLSMA along with Vathiry Diamonds SC.

The main purpose of this match is to bring back a good relationship among the football lovers and the people of Jaffna to share peace and harmony through sport.

Over 40 Veterans Soccer Clubs from all parts of the country are presently affiliated to the SLSMA with the hope of uplifting the veterans in the country.

SLSMA team of 20 players had competed in the recently concluded 6th Annual 11-a-side Veterans Tournament.

With players who have represented the national team in the past and also former players who represented leading clubs in Sri Lanka are sure to thrill the football fans in Jaffna with a vintage game of football.
