LB Finance “A” emerged champions when they beat Kanrich Finance in the final of the Cricket “Sixes” of the 6th Finance Houses Association of Sri Lanka (FHASL) Sports Festival 2015, concluded at Bloomfield grounds, Reid Avenue last Saturday.

Mercantile Investments: 43/3 (5.0) lost to LBF”B”: 44/1 (4.1).
Semi-finals: Kanrich Finance: 62/3 (5.0) beat LBF “A”: 53/2 (5.0);
Commercial Credit: 33/4 (5.0) lost to LBF “B”: 38/2 (3.0).
Final: Kanrich Finance: 59/3 (5.0) lost to LBF “B”: 60/0 (4.2)
Best Bowler: Viraj from LBF “B” Finance, Best Batsman: Gayan from Kanrich, Man of the Final: Madushan from LBF “B”, Man of the Tournament: Deleepa from LBF“B”.
Citizens Devp. Business (CDB) won the Netball tournament beating LB Finance in the final 16/13, after leading 10/9 at half time; 12 teams participated.
Best Defence – Ruvini Yatigmmana from LB Finance; Best shoot – Yasoda Bodinayake from LB Finance; Best Centre – Thivia Shanmuganathan from CDB; Most Outstanding Player – Anuruddhika Gunatillake from LB Finance.
Commercial Credit & Finance won the Volleyball Tournament beating Kanrich Finance in the final in straight sets, 25/21, 25/14; 12 teams participated; Best Player – Supul Chanaka from Commercial Credit & Finance.
The Finance Company won the Rugby Tournament, beating People’s Leasing & Finance, by a toss of coin in the final. The match ended in a nil-all draw and even extra time failing to break the dead lock. In the Semi-finals – The finance Co. beat CDB by the toss of a coin, match ending in a 5-5 draw; Peoples Leasing beat Alliance Finance, 5/0; Best Player – K.D.R. Pinsiri from The Finance Co.
In the two athletics events conducted, Safras from CDB won the Men’s 100 metres and Dilini from Peoples Leasing won the women’s 100 metres; Yashan from LBF and Sagara from Mercantile Investments ran in second and third in the mens’ race.
Theshani from LBF and Bhakthi from CDB were placed second and third in the women’s race.
The Assistant Governor Central Bank, Sunil Lankatilaka was the Chief Guest at the Awards Presentation. (LW)
