Colombo International School Old Boys playing their last league match notched up their first win after three defeats with a superb second half rally to beat Old Christonians, 40/32 in the 2nd Schools Old Boys Over-35 Basketball Championships, conducted by Masters Basketball Sri Lanka, continued at the MCA Courts last weekend; The Old Christonians held the upper hand at the breather, 18/14.

In a Mens O-40 segment game, Lt. Col Mahinda Rajapakse (26) and Lalith Silva (20) played a diehard game for the Old Sokians, Ambalangoda as they beat the fancied Old Royalists, 56/48, after leading 31/25 at half time.

The Women’s Over-35 match between the Old Familians, Bambalapitiya and Our Lady of Victories, Moratuwa ended in a 22 all draw; scorers were dead locked at 12/12 at half time; the match did not go into overtime, as both teams have already qualified for the final.

The tournament will be continued this weekend, 4th & 5th July with a card of five matches at Police Park which includes the Womens O-35 and the Mens O-50 finals, and the Mens O-35 semi-finals. (LW)
