Unbeaten Sir John Kothalawela M.V Kurunegala entered the second round in the all island inter schools under-17 division III cricket tournament by gaining four superb victories over Kuliyapitiya M.M.V (by 43 runs), Mayurapada M.M.V Narammala (by 6 wickets),
Parakramabahu National School Polgahawela (by 91 runs on Parabola system) and Sri Rahula National School Alawwa (by 142 runs) in their first round concluded recently.
Sir John Kothalawela is led by all rounder Sashika Priyamal with wicket keeper batsman Dananjaya Tillekarathna as his deputy. Priyamal made 265 runs with 3 fifties with a top score of 94 against Sri Rahula. He also bagged 8 wickets this season. Stumper Dananjaya Tillekarathna has ten dismissals in four matches.

“We played our first game with only nine players and won it. Now we have formed a strong squad with fourteen players and hope to do better during the second stage of the tournament,” said the jubilant coach Nalin Pathirana and he also thanked college Principal, parents and district coaches who gave immense support during the past.
