‘Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough
For the living
Make a better place
For you and for me.’
-Michael Jackson

(Heal the world)

Most of you must have heard this chorus in the song ‘Heal the world’ by the ‘King of Pop’, Michael Jackson. This song teaches us a lot of things. How can we make this world a better place to live? Since the day you have started to go to school, the elders must be telling you that you have to study well and win the world one day.

But dear children, will education alone help you to make this world a better place? If each and every person in the world molds his or her character by inculcating good attributes, the world will become a better place to live. Have you ever thought of this?

As people all of us have the right to live peacefully without anyone’s interruption. But toady people have to live with fear, anxiety and without a peaceful mind. In a world where there is corruption, robbery, murder, it is the children as future generation who can make this world a better place to live.

But at the same time, the world has become a place of inhumanity, selfishness, frustration, lack of discipline and politeness. The teachings of the religions have become heedless by the people who blindly follow them without proper understanding.

People go behind reputation, fame, social status and prestige etc. In the world today people have become money-makers running fast in a competition. Everything in the world is decided by money. Money has been given priority above all. As a result man fails in his relationships, family bonds, friendships etc.

Above all, people have also become machines without feelings, emotions and sentiments. People who are innocent are also rude at times. People have also become competitive while leading hectic lives and you, the children have also become competitive in your education. The competitive education today has turned the children into a selfish bunch, who don’t even listen to what the elders instruct them.

Technology has also made children victims of its evilness too. Technology has made the lives of people easier and quicker, but at the same time has been a factor for corruption in the present world. So, as children if you use technology in a limited way, you can get the full benefit of the technology too and make this world a better place to live.

Dear children, competition is important to achieve success. But your mindset that yearns to surpass your friends will make your journey to success slow in your education. So you have to be helpful to your friends at any time to teach them what you know if they are slow learners or either they are weak in those subjects. Don’t hesitate to see one’s success and hate them. Follow the people with talents, and be humble enough to learn things and show your talents too.

As children, it is your responsibility to make this world a better place to live. Remember if we, people love the nature, nature will let us live peacefully and happily. As an individual, try to do something to make everyone in this world a happy person. Always try to be an example to the society.

As human beings, we live in this world. The nature provides us the basic needs for our survival like water, air and food as well. Stop the ways that make your surrounding dirty. Just think of this for a while. If every person in the world endeavors to make this world a better place to live, we can surely make this world a better place to live.
