Forty teams advanced to the second round in the ‘Singer Trophy’ under-15 division 11 inter schools cricket tournament now in progress.

A total of 77 teams participated on league basis in 13 groups at the beginning of the tournament.

Ananda College (B) and St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa (B) emerged joint champions in last year.

Last year champion of division three Rajasinghe Central Hanwella and runner-up Royal College Monaragala who were promoted to division two have advanced to the second round. Royal College Monaragala and De La Salle College advanced to the second round after finishing as group champions.

These 40 teams will play on league basis in 8 groups.
Group  ‘P’ –  St. Anthony’s Panadura, S. Thomas’ Bandarawela, Parakrama MV Bandarawatte Gampaha, Christ King College Ja-Ela, Ananda College (B).

Group ‘Q’ – De La Salle College, Trinity College (B), St. Sebastian’s College (B) Moratuwa, Prince of Wales College (B), Homagama MMV.

Group ‘R’ – S. Thomas’ Prep School, Ranpokunugama MV Nittambuwa, St. Peter’s College (B), Ananda MV Kottawa, D.S. Senanayake College (B).

Group ‘S’ – St. Joseph’s College (B), Sri Sumangala MMV Wariyapola, Sripalee MV Horana, Bandarawela Central, Vidyaloka College Galle.

Group ‘T’ – Mahanama College Panadura, Dharmaraja College (B) Kandy, Madampa MMV Kuleegoda, St. Anthony’s College (B) Katugastota, Seevali MMV Ratnapura.

Group  ‘U’ – Kirindiwela MMV, Anuradhapura Central, Ananda Maithreeya MMV Balangoda, Nalanda College (B), Royal College Monaragala.

Group ‘V’ – Kekirawa Central, Rajasinghe Central Hanwella, Vijayaba Ntional School Hungama, St. Joseph’s College Enderamulla, Nugawela Central.

Group ‘W’ – Wayamba Royal College Kurunegala, De Mazenod College (B) Kandana, St. Aloysius College Ratnapura, Royal College (B), Galahitiyawa MMV Ganemulla.
