A record number of over 900 entries have been received for the 100th Colombo Tennis Championship that began on June 12 at the clay courts of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA), playing section. This championship will finish on 28th June.
To boost this event which Sri Lanka’s only premier clay court and a Super A grade ranking tournament which is to be held for the hundredth year, the oldest ever known, will receive a big boost by way of Bharti Airtel sponsoring the event. They are sponsoring this event for the fourth consecutive year.
Being the oldest tournament held in Sri Lanka the Playing Section of the SLTA will be celebrating it in a grand scale and are offering attractive cash prizes and valuable tokens.
The events to be worked out are for boys and girls in the age categories of under 10 to 18, Men and women open singles, doubles and mixed doubles, veterans category for men and women over-35, 45, 55 and 65. There will be over 27 events and players from Pakistan and Bangladesh will add to the glamour.
