Royal will once again come under scrutiny when they take on one of the most improved teams this season St. Joseph’s College in their inter-school League rugby championship match at the Royal Complex ground on Saturday.

Royal probably met a real force in their match against St. Peter’s College last week and posted a relieving 36-25 win. The story could be the same today against the Joes who are holding back nothing this season as they threatened the pride of all teams they have met to-date.

Where the Joes will have to watch out for could be in their backline which will have to tackle their opponents hard to prevent Royal from scoring. The two packs are evenly matched and a close contest can be expected among the forwards.

In other matches St. Peter’s College will host S. Thomas’ College at Bambalapitiya while Science College will meet Kingswood College at Mount Lavinia.

The Peterites are expected to play as favourites to win but Science College will have to throw in everything if Kingswood are to be subdued.
