‘Sithuvili 2015’ an island-wide art exhibition was launched at a media conference held at the DSI Co-operate House, in the presence of the Board of Directors of DSI Samson Group together with the Director of Aesthetic Studies, Ministry of Education, Thushara Gunathilaka.

Managing Director, DSI Samson Group, Kulathunga Rajapaksa said at the media conference, “As a local conglomerate we initiate many long term projects in sports and development of aesthetic skills for our younger generation. Sithuvili is the first such project initiated in 1990 and during the last 25 years, we are really happy that this project has generated positive results by producing responsible citizens for our motherland.”
Founder of the project and Chairman, D. Samson and Sons (Pvt.) Ltd., the marketing arm of the group, Nandadasa Rajapaksa said, “This project was launched as a pure corporate responsibility project to create the environment for rural and urban children to display their skills and talent to world. He said that his experiences with the abundance of talent among the lesser privileged children was instrumental in initiating this project.”

Director of Aesthetic Education, Thushara Gunathilaka mentioned that since 1992, Sithuvili Art Competition maintained a high reputation and was unique for an art competition launched in Sri Lanka.  DSI Samson Group Chairman, Dr. Sam Rajapaksa handover the trophy to Director of Aesthetic Studies Thushara Gunathilaka to symbolize the launch of ‘Sithuvili 2015’.Entries for the Sithuvili Art Competition 2015 will close on June 15.
