Royal and Isipathana hold an edge ahead of the rest of the teams in the fray before the start of the second round matches in the inter-school League rugby championship which kicks off Saturday.

Royal and Isipathana though will play against each other in the last weekend of matches on June 20.

The second round games start Saturday with St. Peter’s hosting Trinity at Bambalapitiya, Royal taking on Kingswood at Royal Complex ground, Science College meeting St.
Joseph’s at Mount Lavinia and Isipathana confronting S. Thomas’ College at Longden Place in Colombo.

Of the four matches the contests involving St. Peter’s and Trinity and Science versus St. Joseph’s remained as unpredictable by way of the outcome.

Isipathana enter the second round matches as the team that has scored the highest number of tries which stands at 32 as against 25 by Royal and 28 by the Peterites.
