Sri Lanka women level up the ODI series (1-1) against the West Indies women when they romped home by six wickets in their second match played at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo yesterday.

Former skipper Shashikala Siriwardene came up with a superb all round performance to steer Sri Lanka’s victory.

She first captured four wickets for just 30 runs to wrap up the visitors for 124 runs after electing to bat first.

Stafanie Taylor batted best to score 43 valuable runs off 70 deliveries and included five boundaries.

Sri Lanka women made a good start with openers Prasadani Weerakkody and Lasanthi Madushani putting on 36 runs. But after their departure wickets fell at regular intervals until Siriwardene stemmed the rot. She top scored with an unbeaten 42 runs off 72 deliveries and had only two fours. She put on 40 runs in an unfinished partnership for the fifth wicket with Chathurani Gunawardane who remained unbeaten on nine runs off 41 deliveries.
